I know its taken me a while, but finally here are some good photos of the Daedalus–class Battlecruiser from Stargate SG-1, Atlantis and Universe. It took a lot of work to build, especially to get the details correct. This model is the most accurate MOC I have built to date, with a lot of attention paid to every detail. This is why it took so long to construct. It is far from the first version of the ship I have made; probably the 5th or 6th. My first version of this ship was also my first Sci-Fi MOC half a decade ago!
I’ve finally finished my Deadalus-class Battlecruiser from Stargate. It is probably my fifth or sixth attempt! This ship was my first sci-fi Lego creation many years ago. Here a few preview photos!
Here is an update on my progress on my Daedalus-class Battlecruiser from Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis. It has taken a long time to complete because I have put a huge focus on attention to detail. I want it to be as accurate as possible. I only need to complete the secondary engines. I have been struggling to work out a design for the engines that I am happy with, and that is accurate enough. Once that’s done, the ship will be finished!
I am also working on a new F-302 model at the moment which I am looking forward to completing!
As you can see I have made a lot more progress on the ship! What I need to work on is details on the bays and underneath the ship. I also need to work on the engines. I am really happy with how its going so far, though it has been very frustrating trying to keep up the accuracy. I believe the model is more accurate than anything I have ever made. I have certainly aimed for accuracy far more than any other model. In most models I build, I am okay with it being similar to the actual object/ship, but not fully accurate. In this model, I am settling for nothing less than the absolute best I can do. I hope it pays off!
If you have been following my Blog for a while, you will know that I have made many versions of the Deadalus-class starship from Stargate. It was in fact my first sci-fi Lego creation. My latest version of the ship was certainly an improvement on the others, and a very different design. However, I later realised it lacked accuracy to a huge extent and even the shape was wrong. Since then I have wanted to build another version of the ship – with extreme details and accuracy. Finally I have started building it!
Here is my progress so far:
I have only built the nose of the ship in detail, though i want to add a lot more and change some pieces. Today, I hope to start work on the F-302 bays. The ship will be about 2/3 the size of the Enterprise-E.
This creation is one of the few creations I have designed myself, and i believe the only custom creation I have posted online. I designed it on paper first and worked through a few designs before constructing it out of Lego. The design is strong and it can be wielded to an extent. It also fires a cannon.
I am really proud of the design, and happy to finally post this creation. It has been built for over a yare but I have not given it priority for posting online, because it is not from any fictional universe. I would consider it a sword that could fit into a science fiction movie, but not any specific film.
Over the past few weeks I have been working on a huge update to the blog – you’ve probably noticed that it looks a bit different. I am excited to talk about how the update isn’t just about how the blog looks. I have added a new component called ‘Helping YOU build’ and its about exactly that. Its a resource designed to help other Lego builders. The pages I originally had to help builders have been expanded and virtually rewritten to hopefully help builders, young and older, to a bigger extent.
There are two pages – one for general building. It includes a step by step guide for the building process of almost any creation. The other is a minifigure guide to help you build custom minifigures. To access these pages go to the top section of the menu.
This is new for me as well. I am likely to change it and improve it as time passes, and hopefully add more pages! Do you have any feedback? What parts work? What parts don’t? Comment below and I will use that feedback to make ‘Helping YOU build’ the best it can be!
I hope you enjoy the new update in how the blog looks and in the new content!
